Episode 4.11: Cabin Fever (Locke-centric)
Airdate: May 8, 2008
- 04/23 - The last three episodes include only one flashback, which the producers say will be a mythically significant outing for... someone. The rumor: Locke. Source: Entertainment Weekly
- 04/21 - Locke is enlightened as to the whereabouts of Jacob's cabin, and life aboard the freighter becomes perilous. Guest starring are Jeff Fahey as Frank Lapidus, Lance Reddick as Matthew Abaddon, Marc Vann as doctor, Kevin Durand as Keamy, Anthony Azizi as Omar, Grant Bowler as Captain Gault, John Terry as Christian Shephard, Holland Roden as Emily, Rebecca Tilney as Emily's mother, Amanda Carlin as ER nurse, Patrick Torres as ER doctor, Doug Hutchison as Horace Goodspeed, Nestor Carbonell as Richard Alpert, Matthew Pedersen as physical therapist, Mandy June Turpin as Florence, Sarah Duval as Melissa, Charles Henry Wyson as John Locke (age 5), Phil Abrams as Gellert and Caleb Steinmeyer as John Locke (age 16). - 04/06 - The Lost production team is working double-time to deliver the last five episodes of Season 4. Thursday found them working all over the island for Episode 4.11, a Locke-centric outing. In the morning, they finished up at Waimano Home in Pearl City, with Terry O'Quinn and Lance Reddick on the scene. At the same time, a second unit was at work at Manoa Falls Trail, filming an on-island scene. Emilie DeRavin, Josh Holloway, Daniel Dae Kim, Yunjin Kim, Rebecca Mader and Jeremy Davies trekked through the jungle past a simple wooden Dharma door. After lunch, the action moved to Leilehua High School in Wahiawa. Students and cheerleaders in 1960s garb brought us to Cowan Heights (near Tustin, CA) to witness Locke's struggles at sixteen. It looks like our "Man of Faith" has had issues with science for a long, long time. [...] Late word from Wahiawa United Methodist Church, reporting several "gorgeous" 1950s or 1960s cars. And one of them was apparently enlisted to film a dramatic scene in which a little girl (perhaps five years of age) runs out of a house and gets struck in the street. Source: The Transmission
- 04/06 - They filmed at Leilehua High School today (04/03/08). There was a high school logo that said "Cowin Heights Knights." [They filmed] some kid coming out of a locker. Source: Lost Spoilers
- 04/03 - Waimano Home is a former mental institution turned government office and laboratory hidden high in the mountains above Pearl City in Leeward O'ahu. Its drab, concrete walls and stark halls made it the perfect location to shoot a hospital scene. The wardrobe suggests that we'll be visiting the 1950s, and possibly another decade in the past. The where and the when, though, is nowhere near as interesting as the who. The flashback revolves around John Locke (Terry O'Quinn), and it's a flashback to the very beginning of his story: his birth. We'll also see Emily, his mother, in her younger days (presumably before her time in Santa Rosa, and before she betrays John Locke for his father's kidney hunt). But someone else is wandering the hospital: the ageless and eerie Richard Alpert, looking quite dapper in a suit. Source: The Transmission
- 03/30 - Mother - Caucasian, late 30s, with red hair and blue or green eyes, Frazzled, annoyed, trying to keep her daughter under control and tired of dealing with her when she seems to only make one bad decision after the other. Gellert - Any ethnicity, 30s-40s. High school chemistry teacher, intelligent and understanding, he offers a bright student the chance of a lifetime but becomes resentful when the offer is refused. Florence - Any ethnicity, late 30s. A foster mother who is worn out and overwhelmed. She is charmed by an unexpected visitor she anxiously hopes might help her situation, but she turns punitive when it doesn't go well. Susie - Any ethnicity, 30s to 40s. A nurse working the late shift who unexpectedly has to help deliver a baby. Professional and compassionate, she tries to help the mother adjust to her new reality. Source: Lost Spoilers
- 03/17 - Five-year-old Boy - Caucasian, green eyes, sweet, shy, tentative and smart. Has to take a test and becomes nervous about passing. Teenage Boy - Plays as 16 or 17, Caucasian, green eyes. Angry, a little nerdy, defiant and rebellious. There's a lot more to this kid than meets the eye. Tries to fight back against older, stronger boys but is pushed into a locker. Teenage Girl - Plays as 16, Caucasian, red hair (or willing to dye hair red). Emotional, prone to dramatic gestures, passionately in love and fights with her Mom about it. Source: Lost Spoilers
Episode 4.12: There's No Place Like Home, Part 1 (Season finale, part 1)
Airdate: May 15, 2008
- 04/28 - The face-off between the survivors and the freighter people begins. Guest starring are L. Scott Caldwell as Rose, Nestor Carbonell as Richard Alpert, Jeremy Davies as Daniel Faraday, Ken Leung as Miles Straume, Rebecca Mader as Charlotte Lewis, Jeff Fahey as Frank Lapidus, Kevin Durand as Keamy, Anthony Azizi as Omar, Andrea Gabriel as Noor "Nadia" Abed Jaseem, Byron Chung as Mr. Paik, June Kyoko Lu as Mrs. Paik, Lillian Hurst as Carmen Reyes, Cheech Marin as David Reyes, Veronica Hamel as Margo Shephard, Michelle Forbes as Karen Decker, Susan Duerden as Carole Littleton and Noah Craft as Hendricks. Source: ABC
- 04/24 - The Funeral Director from the Season 3 Finale, who was played by Nigel Gibbs, will be back for the Season 4 finale. Source: Lost Spoilers
- 04/23 - It's the funeral for [highlight if you want to be that spoiled...Christian Shephard...] Source: The Transmission
- 04/23 - Kate, Hurley, Sayid and Nadia greet each other and talk in a group at the top of the steps outside a church. Source: Pop Candy
- 04/09 - A big scene is being planned for filming currently involving the rescue. The Freighter people are NOT the ones that do the rescuing. The season finale will leave you ballistic as far as cliffhangers go. Source: Lost Spoilers
- 04/09 - Donna - Caucasian, 40s, blonde, pretty, Australian. Has had to deal with many set-backs in her life but is strong and has persevered. Now has to deliver painful and emotional news. Karen Decker - Any ethnicity, 30s to 40s, pretty, pleasant and sharp as a whip. She is a leader and quick-witted. Can manage difficult personalities with ease. Can hold sway three people in a room or a hundred in an audience. Millbanks - 30s to 50s, Australian, rugged, smart, works outdoors with his hands. The kind of guy you'd want with you to get out of a tough situation. Source: Lost Spoilers
- 04/06 - I do know the season finale is featuring a couple Australians. Donna, 40ish blonde and pretty, who has to deliver some bad news, and Millbanks, a tough outdoorsman. Whether that means it's Claire-centric, I do not know. Source: secretagentman at TWoP
- 03/17 - Cuse and Lindelof reveal: The finale will be a two parter. So it will be a traditional two hour story, split over two weeks. Source: DocArzt's Lost Blog
Episodes 4.13 and 4.14: There's No Place Like Home, Parts 2 & 3 (Season finale, part 2)
Airdate: May 29, 2008 from 9 to 11 p.m.
- 05/05 - Lost headed way out to Wai'anae, the arid, rural west coast of O'ahu. They established a base camp at Wai'anae Regional Park, and enlisted a handful of boats to carry equipment and crew across Pokai Bay... Action is called, and the stars get wet. Jorge Garcia, Yunjun Kim, Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly, Naveen Andrews and Henry Ian Cusick swim toward a large, octagonal raft through some debris. In several takes, Hurley - clutching a doll that's most likely playing Aaron - helps pull Kate, Sun, and Sayid aboard. But Jack and Desmond take a little longer to reach them. And Desmond is holding someone who's not moving. Source: The Transmission
- 05/05 - I'm hearing there's a supersecret Sawyer scene in the finale. Source: Kristin on E!Online
- 05/05 - Scaling down somewhat from the huge shoot at Kalaeloa on Wednesday, the Lost crew headed out to upscale East Honolulu today to film at a mansion in Kahala. Specifically, they returned to Hurley's mansion as last seen in "Tricia Tanaka is Dead," a $5.5 million property that's actually on the market. There wasn't much to see from the street, but when a group of extras made a run for craft services they were impossible to miss. Party hats, loud shirts, a couple of cheesy plastic lei. it certainly looked as if Hurley has something to celebrate. Word is it was a surprise party for Hurley's birthday, and in attendance were Sayid and Nadia, and Kate and Aaron. Source: The Transmission
- 04/24 - [...] It was the return of the Oceanic Si . The moment when Jack, Sayid, Hurley, Sun, Kate, and Aaron arrive back in the real world, a moment that the flash forwards seem to have been building backwards toward since the end of Season 3. Their rescue is as huge a media circus as you'd imagine, with a throng of reporters and photographers on hand as they step off the plane. A military transport plane. That brought them back to the United States. Via Honolulu. Actually, the dramatic disembarkation was to be filmed later. But today's filming focused on an elaborate Oceanic Airlines-coordinated press conference. Or, as my two sources put it, "a big press con." The world's media was there for answers, as well as several familiar faces: Veronica Hamel (Margo Shephard), Cheech Marin (David Reyes) and Lillian Hurst (Carmen Reyes). But as Lost fans know, the answers they got merely raised more questions. Ms. Austen, how old is Aaron? Ms. Kwon, what happened to your husband? Mr. Reyes, what of your fortune, and this hefty airline settlement? The answers they give, I dare not tell. But suffice it to say, the press is as skeptical of the official story as Lost toughest fans. (And Hurley's hackles are raised by a query that's been raised by viewers and comedians alike since Season 1.) Sayid toes the line, but isn't happy about it. And yes, the Oceanic Six make surprising mention of some long, lost friends. Three of them, at least, whose deaths occurred in each of the first three seasons. Source: The Transmission
- 04/23 - The May [29] finale will complicate the Jack-Kate-Sawyer love triangle by featuring "a spectacular kiss" and elaborate on Jack's flash-forward ambition to journey back to the Island. "This year's finale will sum up exactly how difficult it may be to accomplish that," says Lindelof, who adds this cryptic response to speculation that flash-forwards will vanish once Island present meets off-Island future: "There could easily be a time when the word flash becomes irrelevant." Source: Entertainment Weekly
General spoilers:
05/07 - Sawyer doesn't die. He's alive. On the Island. [Locke is alive on the Island in the future.] Source: Kristin on E!Online
- 04/23 - Francois Chau is on the island! This may suggest that he has a large part in a flash sequence, or that he is doing the orientation film work for The Orchid set, which leads us to rumor number 2. Source: DocArzt's Lost Blog
- 04/23 - Miles and a banged-up Claire, holding baby Aaron, make a ghastly discovery in the jungle: one dead body and an extra dismembered arm. [...] Coming attractions: The return of ageless Other Richard Alpert. A trek to Jacob's cabin. In the future, Hurley imparting a chilling message from Charlie to Jack. Christian Shephard reaching out to both (!) of his children. Source: TV Guide
- 04/23 - We will find out more back story as to why the late Libby was in the same mental hospital with Hurley, prior to the plane crash, and presumably after she gave her boat to Desmond for the race. [We will] at some point catch up with Emma and Zack, the two kids from the tail section group of survivors who were kidnapped by the Others in season 2's "The Other 48 Days." To the question of whether we'll ever see Katey Sagal's Helen character (Locke's former flame) again, Darlton indicated that they hoped so. To the question of whether the DeGroots, the hirsute couple who founded the Dharma Initiative, are still alive, Cuse and Lindelof paused a bit and then pressed for more specificity on the time frame of the question. As of where the time line of "Lost" will be when the series returns on April 24, Darlton would only say: "One of them is." Lindelof let it be known that in a recent episode when one of the castaways asked Ben if he knew what the island's smoke monster really was and Ben responded that he didn't know -- big lie. "Ben was lying about the smoke monster," Lindelof said. Source: Variety
- 04/23 - Desmond stays on the freighter. And you'll see more shenanigans on the freighter. Source: Washington Post
- 04/23 - Fans will also see a new Dharma station called the Orchid - all three levels of it - that might shed more light on the Island's time-warping properties. Peripheral faves like Penelope, ageless Other Richard Alpert (Nestor Carbonell), and off-Island mystery man Matthew Abaddon (Lance Reddick) will pop up. But due to the strike, two breakout freighter newbies - frazzled physicist Daniel Faraday (Jeremy Davies) and ghost-whispering hustler Miles Straume (Ken Leung) - won't be getting their spotlights until next year. Source: Entertainment Weekly
- 04/23 - Greg Grunberg, aka Oceanic pilot Seth Norris, was in Hawaii last week filming scenes for the show. According to my sources, the Orchid Station, which we should finally see soon, may be a major set going into next season as well. Source: Kristin on E!Online
- 04/23 - My frenemy at E! Online is reporting that Greg Grunberg will reprise his role as Oceanic pilot Seth Norris in the two-hour season finale. Coincidentally, that same episode will feature the introduction of another pilot, a "young Top Gun type" who, per the casting sheet, doesn't like it when his copilot brings Lucky Charms onboard. Or was it a lucky charm? Eh, it was one of those two. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
- 04/23 - Damon [Lindelof] says: "All we can say is that Sawyer is not one of the Oceanic 6 and Jack and Kate are. And obviously, there will be a huge focus in these final three hours of the show that comprise the finale in terms of how that series of events transpires, and ultimately what happens to Sawyer, and it's all on the axis of the love triangle. So we think that both fans of Sawyer and Kate, otherwise known as the Skaters from what I'm told, and Jack and Kate, the Jaters, will have a bounty of interesting romantic scenes." [...] The four-toed statue "will be back on the show," says Damon. "People will learn who built it and why it has four toes." Source: Kristin on E!Online
- 04/09 - [The spectacular kiss will occur off the island between in a boy and a girl.] Source: Kristin on E!Online
- 04/03 - It appears that Michael Emerson and Yunjin Kim have just flown into Heathrow for some London based filming along with Jack Bender. My source is speculating that this could be some scenes from the finale although this part is purely speculation based on Jack Bender directing previous finales. Source: Lost Spoilers
- 04/03 - In the new issue of Lost magazine, DL teased, "Romance is always blooming on and off the island. And I hereby promise you one of the most spectacular kisses you've ever seen on the show in this year's finale." Naturally, I pressed DL's partner in crime, Carlton Cuse, for further details on the earth-shattering smooch, to which he replied, "I can disclose no more details other than to say it's one of my favorite moments of the whole series so far. And contrary to some speculation, it is a male/female kiss." Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
- 03/30 - Upcoming episodes will reveal how [Michael] made it home. "You will be getting the detailed version of what exactly happened to Michael in between Ben sending him and Walt off the island and when we first meet him behind the wheel of that car" in the March 20 episode, Lindelof promises. Adss exec producer Carlton Cuse: "Michael becomes really pivotal to the end of the season. His return will have a lot of impact on the other characters." Presumably, that includes Sayid, who exposed Michael as an Oceanic 815 survivor. Viewers also will learn how the Oceanic 6 escaped the island and what hapenned to those who didn't. "The debate about whether Jack or Locke was right is really gonna amplify," Cuse teases. Amonth the other goodies in store: the identity of the person in that coffin, details on the freighter fold and the answer to who attacked -- and seemingly killed -- Rousseau and Karl. Source: TV Guide
- 03/18 - I'm hearing Evangeline Lilly has another Kate-centric episode coming up. Source: Kristin on E!Online
- 03/17 - An upcoming, post-strike episode will feature the same male character at different ages, described as "sweet, shy, tentative and smart" at 5 and "angry, a little nerdy, defiant and rebellious" at 16. Also, said male character has green eyes, a fact you might not find significant, unless you were this guy. The same episode also features a redheaded teenaged girl who is "emotional, prone to dramatic gestures, and passionately in love." Who are we talking about here? The easy answer is: Duh, it's Ben and Annie, his childhood pal. But! Conflicting intel says these characters appear in a Locke-centric episode, which is confusing. Source: The Ausiello Report
- 03/17 - Cuse and Lindelof reveal: Ben was telling a truth and a lie [about Widmore]. He is behind the freighter, but he is not there for the reason that Ben says he is. We'll know by the end of season four. Source: DocArzt's Lost Blog
- 03/17 - The current print edition of TV Guide (March 10-16) drops some spoilers regarding what's to come in Lost's late season: we'll learn why Sayid is Ben's paid assassin, why Jack has descended into a tormented diet of pills and booze, this season ends with the O6 getting off the Island, the Jack-Kate situation remains unresolved and probably will be for a while, we haven't seen the last of Kate-Sawyer this season -- not by a long shot, it's about how many years elapsed between what we're watching on the Island and the FF's, there are some growth issues when you go on or off the island. Source: DocArzt's Lost Blog
- 03/12 - I have it on good authority that Nestor Carbonell has inked a deal to reprise his role as ageless island dweller Richard in at least one of this season's final five episodes. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
- 02/26 - This "Oceanic 6" make it off the island, but one will die - exactly who will be revealed this season. Season 4 is about who gets off the island and the fact that they need to get back. Season 5 is about why they need to get back, and season 6 is about what happens when they get back. Source: New York Post
- 02/12 - I have heard from two different sources that in an upcoming episode the boat folks appear to test each other for psychic powers. Source: Kristin on E!Online
- 12/16/2007 - Lost Spoilers resumed the spoilers released in the Season 3 DVD commentaries: Horace Goodspeed and Olivia are important to the DHARMA story, and we can expect to see more of them in the future. Speaking of volcanoes, there is one on the island. Damon says it will be of "seismic importance" (pun very much intended.) Annie is an extremely important part of the island's backstory, and it is a planned chapter to come. Annie is more important than the Goodspeeds or the volcano. We have not seen Ben's motivation for his role in the purge, but we will. Source: Lost's Season 3 DVD
- 12/13/2007 - [Carlton] Cuse also fessed up about the person in the coffin seen at the very end of season three. Was it someone we've seen before? "Yes," he said without elaboration. [...] Cuse teased, "The Jack/Kate/Sawyer triangle is something that will go on for a long time. And who says they don't have a chance?" Source: Sci Fi Wire
- 10/02/2007 - Among the spoilers Lindelof revealed: The show's producers have already figured out what they will do with the mysterious character of Jacob, who was introduced at the end of season three. Picking his words carefully, executive producer Carlton Cuse said, "Yes, we do know how Jacob will be depicted. Notice the careful wording of my answer. And no, Jacob did not appear before he was met by Locke." Source: Sci Fi Wire
- 09/20/2007 - Lost executive producer Carlton Cuse confirms that [Cynthia Watros] will be playing Hurley's dearly departed sweetheart [Libby] again this season for multiple episodes, presumably in more of Desmond's flashbacks. "She'll be in enough of the show for us to fill in the missing pieces of her story," says Cuse. Source: The Ausiello Report
- 08/30/2007 - An upcoming episode will feature a female translator in her 30s who works at a university and translates from French to English. Source: SpoilerFix.com
- 07/30/2007 - Carlton Cuse revealed: You will see more of Jacob. Source: Kristin on E!Online
- 07/27/2007 - The Comic-Con Lost panel started off with a clip featuring Ben calling the Others a "rebel sect" and Tom (M.C. Gainey) saying "By the time you see this, I will be dead." Then, a voice-over in the clip revealed "The survival of the Island is now at stake. Carlton Cuse told that Rachel probably won't be on the Island. Cuse and Damon Lindelof warned fans to not get too attached to the character of Richard Alpert because actor nestor Carbonell is part of the regular cast of the new CBS show Cane. Lindelof nodeed furiously when asked if Jack and Claire would find out they are related. He also confirmed that Ben and Henry Gale had words. The duo revealed that Harold Perrineau is indeed returning as Michael Dawson but they don't want to reveal how or when he returns; however, Damon Lindelof claimed that he would return ealy in the fourth season. Lindelof added that "[Michael] too some extreme actions" and that his story is about the power of the Island to be redemptive. Cuse confirmed that it is their "intention to get to Libby's story this year." They revealed that "there are important things going on in Danielle's story and they have to sync up." They will work on syncing those things this season or the next one. Lindelof confirmed that the whole deal with the moster will be answered. The Lost panel present a never-before-seen Dharma Film. It is hosted by Marvin Candle but the man presents himself as Dr. Edgar Halifax [Note: It sounds more like Haliwax]. The film is about bunnies but more specifically about Bunny #15. Candle indentifies this station as Station 6, The Orchid. Then, he goes on to say that the viewer has probably realized by now that he or she is not working at a mere botanical research unit. He apologizes for making him or her lie to friends and family members about the nature of the work. He mentions something that sounds like "Kasimir effect" and mentions the "unique properties of the Island." Then there's one of Jacob's subliminal messages. It may have been some variation on "as Jacob loves you." Then there's a bunny riot. One of the station's alarms blares, Dr. Halifax/Marvin panics. There's an intercut clip of someone riding a bicycle. The clip is inserted upside-down, and the rider appears to be in the village of Otherville... And then, amid the chaos (perhaps this is the Incident?), the filmstrip slides off the reel. - 05/31/2007 - "The four-toed statue is something we will get to next season," Cuse revealed. "Sometimes we're surprised by the things people get fixated on. We tried to answer a fair number of questions this year, but that's one we just didn't get to." Benry's barely visible boss man will also be back, he confirms. "There will definitely be a lot more of Jacob in Season 4." Source: Kristin on E!Online

- 05/01/2007 - Lost Spoilers offers us a summary of the spoilers Cuse and Lindelof revealed in the latest podcast: They will be revisiting the psychic's predictions for Claire in the future as well as Walt's abilities. The Others' obsession with children and pregnancy goes beyond the inability to successfully bear children on the island. The Other's definitely have an interest in children with special abilities. That's why they took Walt. There are two factions of The Others and are in no relation to the hatches/stations. They will be getting back to the statue before the show ends. Source: Lost Podcasts
- 04/23/2007 - Lost Spoilers offers us a summary of the spoilers Cuse and Lindelof revealed in the latest podcast: There will be a Rousseau flashback eventually. In it, it will talk about Montand and his arm. Source: Lost Podcasts
- 04/09/2007 - I asked Emilie de Ravin [if Jack and Claire would ever find if they are related] during my Lost set visit, and here's her take: "There is going to have to be some kind of reference on our parts of our father or a photograph saying something to make that happen. But neither one of us talk much together anyway, let alone talk about our parents." Source: Kristin on E!Online
- 02/12/2006 - Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof reveal: Given everything else we have to tell, [Libby's story] is going to be a mystery that's going to have to get answered in year 4. There's really one significant missing piece to Libby's story. We saw in the season finale last year that she met with Desmond, she gave him his boat, and we know that her husband died — and then we know that subsequent to that, she spent some time in a mental institution, the same one as Hurley. The question the audience wants answered is, How did she get from A to B — from Desmond to the mental institution? We know the answer to that question, but the only way to tell that story is through another character's flashback, and that character would have to be another character on the show who is not among the beach dwellers. Source: Kristin on E!Online
- 11/08/2006 - [Eko might be back and it] might not necessarily be a flashback episode. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
- 07/22/2006 - Viewers will learn why Libby was in the asylum, and why the island has healing powers. Source: Sci Fi Wire
- 05/14/2006 - Damon Lindelof [reveals]: Libby's got this mysterious backstory, of which we've only given you the tip of the iceberg. We know she's spent some time in the mental institution with Hurley, and the idea of killing her before she had an opportunity to explain how she got there... we have a master plan for how we're going to tell that story, but it's all posthumous. You'll start to learn Libby's moves through flashbacks over the course of the next season. So we're not done with Cynthia, but Libby is dead. Source: The Ausiello Report
- 05/03/2006 - The story of the wrecked research vessel, it will be coming at some point but we can't guarantee it'll be in Season 3. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
